DAY ONE: First day session will be classroom format and will cover fundamentals of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, mechanical and electrical components, system troubleshooting, refrigerant metering devices, electrical basics, and tools and test equipment.

DAY TWO: Second day will be a hands-on session which will include educational exercises in the following activities:

  • Identify Trainer Components
  • Attach Gauges
  • Pressure Comparison
  • Leak Detection
  • Recovery of Refrigerant
  • Pulling a Vacuum
  • Charging System with Refrigerant
  • Setting Superheat
  • Setting Subcooling
  • Evaporator Temperature Difference

DAY THREE: Course and exam to become EPA certified to recover and contain refrigerant from both high and low pressure air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This day is divided into a six hour review followed by a two hour exam.

NOTE: Students must pass exam to become EPA certified. Refunds will not be provided to students who do not pass the exam.

Audience: This course is intended for building operators, facility personnel, property managers, and HVAC contractors.

Tuition: $1000 per student (includes breakfast and lunch, and all training materials).
